Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
