Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
