Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A spokesman for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions towards young women.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
